Agreeing to these terms
These terms apply when you use the B&T Wilmington Concrete and Masonry website, ask us for an estimate or hire us for work. By using the site or booking a job with us, you agree to them, so please read them first.
If you sign a written estimate, proposal or contract with us for a specific job, that document controls wherever it differs from these terms.
Who we are and what we do
B&T Wilmington Concrete and Masonry is a masonry contractor in Wilmington, NC. We work with brick, block, stone and concrete, including foundation and chimney repair, tuckpointing, retaining walls, pavers, walkways, fireplaces and outdoor kitchens. You can read more about our crew on our About page or see our services from the home page.
We are fully licensed and insured. The work we agree to do for you is the work described in your written estimate or contract, and nothing on this website is a promise to do a particular job.
Information on this website
We write this site to help homeowners understand masonry and concrete work, and we try to keep it accurate. It's general information, though, so it isn't a quote, a design or advice for your specific house.
Every job depends on what we find on site, so rely on your written estimate and on what we tell you in person, not on the website alone.
Estimates and pricing
Our on-site estimates are free and obligation-free. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure when we visit, and it stays good for the period written on it.
Masonry often hides problems until the work is open, such as soft mortar behind a sound-looking face, rotted framing behind veneer or poor soil under an old slab. If we find something that changes the scope or the price, we'll stop, show you what we found and get your approval before doing extra work.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We give you a start date when you book, and we work hard to keep it. Mortar and concrete need the right weather to set properly, so rain, high wind or cold can push the schedule, and we'll reschedule rather than put down work that won't hold up.
If you need to cancel or move your job, call us as soon as you can. Your written agreement sets out any cancellation terms, and materials we've already ordered or delivered for your job may be charged to you.
Payment terms
Payment is due as set out in your written estimate or contract, including any deposit and when the balance is due. The agreement also lists the payment methods we accept for that job.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until the account is brought current, and you may be responsible for reasonable costs of collecting what's owed, as North Carolina law allows.
What we need from you
Please give our crew clear access to the work area and tell us about anything we can't see, like buried lines, irrigation, drainage problems, property lines or neighborhood rules that affect the job. Where a job needs a permit, your written agreement will say who is responsible for getting it.
Keep children and pets away from the work area while we're there, and stay off new concrete or mortar for as long as we tell you, because early traffic is a common cause of damage.
Our workmanship and warranty
Your satisfaction, guaranteed. If something we built isn't right, call us and we'll come out, look at it and make it right where the problem is our workmanship.
Any written warranty for your job is the one stated in your contract, and it covers only the work and terms listed there. Natural color and texture differences in brick and stone, small shrinkage cracks in concrete, and damage from settling soil, storms, flooding, misuse or work by others are not defects in our workmanship.
Beyond what's written in your contract, this website and the information on it are provided as is, and we make no other warranties, express or implied, to the extent the law allows.
Limits on our liability
To the extent North Carolina law allows, B&T Wilmington Concrete and Masonry is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of your property, related to our work or this website. Our total liability for any job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
Settling disagreements
If you're unhappy with any part of our work or billing, call us first, because most problems are settled faster with a conversation and a site visit. We'll work with you in good faith to find a fair fix.
If we can't settle it together, either side may take the matter to the state or federal courts located in North Carolina.
Governing law
These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one in effect. Changes don't alter a written contract you've already signed with us unless we both agree in writing.
Questions about these terms
If anything here isn't clear, call us at (910) 218-9550, Monday through Sunday from 6 AM to 11 PM, or reach us through our Contact page. We respond within 1 business day.
